Cooks beach, New Zealand
This sand is from the Coromandel Peninsula. Out of all my sand, this one is my favourite. The sand has literally turned into little glass beads, couple with crushed pink and white seashells.. its just gorgeous. Id take the whole beach home with me if I could. I&J brought this back for me =]
Sting Ray City, Cayman Islands
My Bearnaise [Britt] brought this back from her trip to the Cayman Islands in Feb 2012
Kata Beach, Phuket, Thailand
This sand was brought back by my cousin Lee who frequents Thailand. Very fine white sand. Thanks Lee!! :D
Otama Beach, New Zealand.
Otama Beach is located on the North Eastern shore of the Coromandle Peninsula. This sand was picked up on my first vacation in New Zealand in 2009. It has got to be one of the most memorable places I visited during this trip. The sand was so ridiculously white, it barely registers in my photos.
Interesting thing about this sand is that not matter how much you shake it up… the dark and white sand dont mix. they may intermingle a bit, but generally they stay seperate! I brought back a huge bag of this.
**The link above is the exact spot this sand was taken from, but I do not own this photo.
Mero Beach, Dominica
Dominica is located in the Caribbean, north west of Barbados. I have 3 other bottles of black sand but this one if by far the heaviest I have. In the light it sparkles =] This was given to be by my boyfriends parents.
This sand is from the famous Sahara desert, I must confess it is a lot more colourful in person. It looks rusty, almost burnt orange. Its quite beautiful.. and extremely coarse. This was also brought back by Morgans parents
Papakōlea Beach [green sand beach], Big Island, Hawaii
This sand was brought back home from our trip to Hawaii in 2009. The green colouring is due to the presence of Olivine Crystals in the sand.
Pink Beach, Bermuda
This sand was given to me by a family friend who spent some time in Bermuda =] Lovely crushed pink and white shells.
Ramla Beach, Gozo, Malta
This beautiful rusty sand is from the Island of Gozo, one of the Maltese Islands in the Mediterranean. I&J brought this home
Coopers Beach, New Zealand
This wonderful assortment of crushed shells is from Coopers Beach in NZ. located near Doubtless Bay on the North Island. I&J also brought this home =]
